selecting a specialist

A veterinarian is considered to be a board certified specialist after successfully completing an approved residency program and examination process administered by a particular specialty college. All Advanced Veterinary Care Center (AVCC) surgical specialists are board certified.

Having your pet seen by a board certified specialist means that the doctor in charge of your pet’s care has received extensive training in his particular discipline. Board certified specialists are considered experts within their field and have knowledge of the most recent advances in diagnostics, surgical procedures and therapeutics to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of your pet.
