From time to time, we hire receptionists and veterinary technician assistants with 1 to 2 years of experience, veterinary technicians with many years of experience and those who have obtained advanced training to become a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). While we prefer individuals with previous specialty referral and or emergency experience, we are just as interested in those individuals who have general veterinary practice experience and can demonstrate proficiency in basic and advanced animal care and the skills necessary to become a valued and contributing member of our team.

Customer Services Representative

DESCRIPTION
VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center (VCA AVCC) is a multi-specialty referral only veterinary hospital serving referring veterinarians and pet owners throughout Southern California. We have board certified specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, oncology and surgery. VCA AVCC�s mission is to provide high quality, compassionate care to its patients and exceptional service to referring veterinarians and pet owners.

We are seeking experienced, dependable and personable Customer Services Representative to work full time in our Lawndale office. Our customer service representatives work together to greet pet owners, check-in and admit pets to the hospital, prepare charts, enter treatments, prepare estimated charges, receive and post payments, schedule and confirm appointments, respond to owner inquiries, process referrals, interact with referring veterinarians, staff doctors, specialists and technicians and perform various administrative duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School graduation required
  • 2-3 years customer service/reception experience required
  • Previous experience in medical, dental or veterinary hospital preferred
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills required
  • Able to work Monday through Friday and weekends as needed
  • Able to multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Computer literate

Veterinary Technicians

DESCRIPTION
VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center (AVCC) is a multi-specialty referral and emergency veterinary hospital serving pet owners and referring veterinarians throughout Southern California. Our seasoned medical staff consists of board certified specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, oncology and surgery, as well as a specialist in acupuncture and chiropractic care. Our mission is to provide high quality, compassionate care to our patients and exceptional service to referring veterinarians and pet owners.

We are seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants (registered or unregistered assistants) for surgery, weekends and two (2) technicians for the night (graveyard) shift. Candidates for these positions should be proficient in advanced animal care, animal restraint techniques, administering oral and injectable treatments, placing catheters, taking radiographs, drawing blood, running diagnostic laboratory tests, operating equipment, etc.

Surgery Technician: Successful candidates for surgery technician should have 3 to 4 years of previous operating room experience, to include, but by no means limited to pre and post-operative care, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments, preparing packs, etc.

Weekends and Night Shift Technicians: The successful weekend and night shift candidates will have previous emergency experience, be familiar with administering treatments to hospitalized patients, work well with others and assist doctors and co-workers in the delivery of quality patient care and exceptional customer service.

  • Minimum 3-5 years veterinary technician experience, RVT preferred
  • Previous emergency or specialty hospital experience desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional oral communication skills
